An electronic stethoscope is a modern version of the conventional acoustic stethoscope. An electronic stethoscope converts sound or vibrations into electrical signals and amplifies them. These electrical signals can then be heard via headphones or recorded externally. Some electronic stethoscopes allow the user to adjust the frequency settings to better hear certain sounds.
